You know what else I'm ready for? These delectable wings. Serve with steamed jasmine rice and stir fried broccoli.
Sticky Spicy Honey Garlic Wings
Adapted from MomWhoCooks via Allrecipes.com
24 chicken wings, split
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 Tablespoon garlic, minced
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons sriracha hot chili sauce
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons honey, or more if you like a sweeter sauce
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup water
Directions
Preheat an oven to 400 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Mix together the brown sugar, garlic, chili sauce, 1/2 cup water, honey, and soy sauce.
Arrange the chicken wings in a baking dish; pour sauce over the chicken wings and cover with foil. Bake for 25 minutes, or until cooked through.
Take wings out of the oven and pour the cooking juices into a saucepan; bring to a boil. Mix cornstarch and 1/4 cup of water together and add to the sauce. Cook until thickened.
Set oven to broil on Hi. The rack should be positioned in the middle of the oven.
Pour the thickened sauce back over the wings and return to oven. Broil until sauce is golden and bubbly.
I just finished polishing off a chicken wing from a store-bought roast chicken. Definitely not sticky, gooey, good like the ones you have here. But I'll just imagine. I'm ready for spring, too.

ReplyDeletemade this for dinner last night but i used drumsticks instead of wings and a squeeze of lemon to the sauce. It was PERFECTION. My roommates all had a taste and are begging me to make it again. Thank you for posting the recipe!
ReplyDeleteMy mom used to make something like this for me after my basketball games when I was little, but I don't think she used the honey. No wonder that glaze looks so gooey good. My kids would love this.

Have you ever tryed this sticky garlic sauce with chicken hind quarters cut up ? I bet that would work too.

ReplyDeleteMade these last night they were delicious. Couldn't figure out how to get them gooey and sticky on both sides though/when to turn them over. Yummy sauce
ReplyDeleteI made these last night and the sauce was fabulous. The wings got nice and sticky and awesome. I couldn't figure out how to get them like that on both sides without one side being gooey and not as good though.... Are they supposed to be flipped over at a certain time?
ReplyDeleteAlso made them with frozen chicken wings, took an extra 10-15 min on the cooking time and worked perfect!
Thanks to Anonymous above, I flipped and rebated during the broiling phase to even the crisping. I also broiled on a grill rack above a foil line baking sheet to let more air circulate to the underside when it was in the shade. Good tip off, thanks!
